Frequently asked questions
Is counselling confidential?
I abide by the BACP code of ethics and respecting your confidentiality is integral to my work. Trust is the basis of our work together and confidentiality is only broken in exceptional circumstances or when legally obliged to. We can discuss this further when we meet.
What can I expect in our first session?
We meet at my practice in Leatherhead (or if you choose to work on-line this will be via video call or phone) where you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the counselling process and our work together. During this first session you will be able to get a sense of whether we are a good fit for each other and decide if you want to continue from there. It is very important that you to find a therapist you feel comfortable working with.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions is dependent upon your needs and always remains your decision. Our work can be open-ended or we can agree a specified time - we can talk about this when we meet.
How much does it cost?
My fees are £50 per 50 minute session.
Where and when do you work?
My practice is in Leatherhead and has off-road parking. I can offer the following appointment times:
Monday to Friday - from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; and 18:30 to 20:30 on Monday evenings.
Saturday - Morning appointments may be available, please ask.
What if you can't help me?
We can discuss the possibility of a referral if I feel that you would be better suited to see another professional with specific experience in a particular issue.
I would like to meet with you, what next?
